Robin is cheerful, graceful & tenacious little bird who is teaching us to be brave, honest & kind, encourages us to embrace life with joy & positive thoughts, even during the darkest & hardest times in our life.

Robins are associated with the soul. It is believed that they are messengers of gods.
Robins symbolize the rejuvenating forces of Fire, divinity, warmth & vitality.
One characteristic of Robin is their ability to nurture themselves into true adulthood. This is signified by the Robin’s red breast which symbolizes the activation of creative energy, encouraging growth.

In Norse mythology, the Robin was associated with the god Thor.

Medieval Europe's lore often represents Robin attending the Christ. The tiny Robin, who was then brown colored, flew to Jesus’ Crown of Thorns & sang to him, to comfort his pain & attempted bravely to pluck the thorns away with his beak. Unfortunately, the bird only tore his own breast on the thorns. Since then it was thought that Robins wore red feathers on their chests as a badge of honor.
Another legend said that the red mark was a burn caused by the bird’s visit to purgatory as it carried water as a relief to the lost souls.

  1. Wow! This is really insightful but am not sure i have ever seen this specie bird or if its actually native to Africa or more especially Nigeria. But i will start looking out for it.. This is really my first time of hearing about this specie of bird called robin.
