WITCHES' LADDERS

Witches' Ladders are used for meditation, counting prayers/ spells & to help focus the mind, to ground & center. Traditionally a Witches' Ladder is a cord with 3, 9, 13 or 40 knots. The beads or knots enable you to concentrate on repetitive chants or incantations without having to keep count. This enables you to focus your will & energy on the desired goal. This is often referred to as cord magick, knot magick or string magick.
Witches' Ladders can be used to stabilize the situation, harmonize the space, attract good luck, to cast spells or cause/remove trouble.

If the ladder breaks, beads are lost or fall, this is not a particularly good sign. Either the work is not right, or the goal is out of reach, or you are doing it for the wrong purpose. If the thread gets messed up -very rarely, but it also happens – someone interferes with your craft, or you interfere with someone with your charms.
