VALKNUT

Valknut is symbol of Odin, or trinity of gods, It can be Odin, Vili & Ve; Odin, Henir & Loki; Freya, Heimdal & Tyr. The first trinity is obviously the gods who created the Universe. The second trinity can act as an allegory of wisdom, physical strength & ingenuity, respectively. The third option shows the stages of a person's spiritual evolution: the senses (instincts, the subconscious world), the body (the physical world, strength & resilience) & the spirit itself (wisdom, awareness). Valknut is a symbol very much associated with death. It can be found on the ruins of Anglo-Saxon cremations. Odin played various roles in the Germano-Norse world of gods, including the guide of the spirits of the dead to the underworld. Traditionally, Valknut was stamped on the sacrificial stones intended for the execution of the "blood eagle". This was considered a sacrifice to Odin. Valknut most likely represented a certain warrior's path: from earthly existence to Valhalla & meeting Odin.
