In esoteric sense, Demons are multidimensional entities that exist outside the perception of our ordinary world & have their own consciousness.
Demons are strong & dangerous with a pronounced negative orientation. You can feel their presence very rarely. Demons are attracted & interested in the energy of pain & suffering, so they always accompany conflicts, wars, various kinds of bullying & torment. Very often they are the initiators of these situations, which arise as a result of direct or indirect manipulation of obsessive people.
As a rule, demons are attached to people who have bad habits & strong addictions of various kinds, as well as to overly emotional personalities, because their vibrations on the subtle plane attract this type of entity.
Demon can enter the person through the person's evil-minded consciousness & helps to do evil if a person is focused on evil- consciously, purposefully & systematically constantly strives for evil, seeks means to commit evil & causes evil to others. Demon can also enter through the concentrated field of retribution energy when person for long time has been subjected to persecution, harassment & torment from other people, suffers all the bullying & accumulates a thirst for revenge. Demons can endow a possessed person with destructive abilities. Alcohol, drug addiction, smoking, sexual perversions, gambling addiction, etc. Curses, love spells, other destructive effects induced through demons. Mindless performance of black magic rites without proper knowledge. Deliberate placement of a demon with a certain program in the human biofield by a practitioner. Imprisonment, crimes, work in law enforcement agencies, some officials & others. Temptations. Fame, wealth, power, etc.
Generic demons.
There may also be other reasons. Usually, the person with such a settlement is gradually replaced, the person becomes less & less himself & parasites, fattened by his emotions, weaknesses & experiences, increasingly seize power over the body. Here one will need a competent, strong specialist to expel the settler.
Demons can also be just next to a person. The reason for this may be absolutely the same conditions as in the settlement. The only difference is that here they cannot enter the individual, only occasionally whispering their ideas in his ears, pushing him to actions & then they leave again. Most often, their influence increases when a person is weak, irritated, or under the influence of intoxicating substances. It is those who are simply fooled by demons, but have not yet been able to capture consciousness, who can at this stage realize that something is wrong with them & go to a cleansing session.
Obsession is the extreme degree of mastering low-frequency entities. As a rule, the personality of the possessed is suppressed, he experiences great agony & the demons force him to do unimaginable things. The possessed scream, wheeze, physically harm themselves, swear obscenities in churches, hold demonstrations in public places, exposing themselves in an ugly, ridiculous light. This person will never ask for help. He has no control over himself, he is no longer aware of much at all. In such cases it should be a powerful practitioner with extensive experience in this field, an old monk who has spent his whole life in prayer, an exorcist who is called for a help.
So how do demons affect the psyche of human beings, their lives in general?
A person begins to succumb to bad habits-drinking, endlessly sticking to adult movies, smoking, taking drugs, gambling, randomly changing sexual partners, gluttony, etc. Can begin to manifest as one addiction, or several at once.
Panic attacks, complex mental states, outbursts of anger, aggression, tantrums, neurosis, obsessive thoughts, fears, strong emotional outbursts.
Ridiculous cases. Often a person is deceived for money. Alcoholics, homeless people. They either ask for something or say absurd, meaningless things. In difficult cases it seems to a person that he is going crazy - adequate people, as if by agreement at once, carry tons of nonsense. 
Constant breakdowns in the house, equipment failures, burnt-out light bulbs.
Frequent scandals at home & at work.
Erotic dreams or dreams in which you are attacked, nightmares.
A desire to break the law or commit crimes that have already been committed. Craving for theft, arson, fighting, murder etc. Problems with government agencies.
Lack of moral principles, a person can go over their heads without sparing anyone, commits nasty & cynical actions, vanity, pride.
Indifferent attitude to relatives, to the family, to loving & loved people, or ill-treatment of them.
Changes in appearance, look, voice & manners.
A person cannot explain his actions.
Craving to view photos & videos with dismemberment, accidents & other content.
Cruelty, bitterness, cynicism, previously uncharacteristic of a person.
Diseases of unclear origin, often with fever.
Negative feelings, including drained emotions, mood swings & even bad luck. Spiritual, emotional, physical attacks. Nightmares. Shadows.
Strange sounds may occur, banging, stomping or scratching on walls, things fall, doors slam shut.
Pets may begin acting aggressively for no apparent reason or even fall ill.
One of the most common signs of a demonic infestation is a terrible, putrid smell. The scent of decomposition, vomit or rotting eggs, sulfur. The scent of death.

Use rituals or prayers to purify yourself & your space, as well as to have constant protection. You also need emotional control & lucidity in your dreams.
