Crystals are the silent witnesses of billions of years of Earth's history, the crystallized
energy of the planet, the guardians of ancient wisdom & power. Unlike dynamic Fire & flowing
Water, crystals represent the element of Earth, stable & solid. Lithomancy is the art of divination using crystals, which allows us to obtain information about the material aspects of life, long-term prospects, physical health, grounding & also about hidden powers & protection. Each crystal, whether it's a precious mineral, a modest pebble from the beach or a specially engraved symbol, has its own unique energy, history & ability to resonate with the vibrations of the Earth & space.
Choosing crystals is an important first step that determines the nature & depth of predictions. Use either specially selected minerals or ordinary stones which you will attach importance to yourself.
For beginners it is a good idea to start with a set of 5-13 stones. It allows to get enough information & does not overload with interpretation.
Traditional sets like runes, shells or dice often come in 13, 20 or 25s. The more there are, the more detailed the answer may be but the interpretation is also more difficult.
Crystals should be large enough to be easily picked up, thrown & recognized but not too heavy or bulky. Ideally, they will be equal size to avoid prejudice when choosing or throwing.

Green Aventurine: Luck, prosperity, new opportunities, growth, healing, optimism.
Sodalite: Intuition, logical thinking, mental clarity, emotion-, the ability to introspect.
Moonstone: Intuition, feminine energy, emotional balance, new beginnings.
Orange Calcite: Energy, creativity, motivation, healing.

You can charge them with certain values that will reflect the main areas of life or aspects of issues. Like any fortune-telling tools, crystals need regular cleansing, charging & possibly programming to serve as clean & efficient conductors of energy. Crystals can absorb energy from the environment & from people. Regular cleansing removes accumulated negative or alien energy.
Rinse crystals under running cold water for a few minutes. Visualize how Water carries away all the negative or other people's energy. Not all crystals can be soaked, like Selenite, Gypsum, Calcite & Fluorite. Study the properties of each crystal before using Water.
You can place the crystals in a bowl with dry sea salt for a few hours or overnight. Salt is a powerful absorbent. After cleansing, dispose of the salt. Some stones lie Hematite, Pyrite, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli do not tolerate salt, as it can damage their surface or cause corrosion. Use this method carefully.
You can fumigate crystals with the smoke of cleansing herbs like White Sage, Palo Santo, Frankincense or Cedar. Pass each crystal through the smoke, visualizing how it clears.
You can place crystals next to a singing bowl or Tibetan bells during meditation. The vibrations of sound purify & harmonize energy.
You can leave crystals overnight under the light of the Full or Waning Moon, especially good for lunar cleansing cycles.
You can bury crystals in the ground for a day or night. Earth has a powerful ability to absorb negativity & restore the natural energy of crystal. Charging fills crystals with new, fresh energy, enhancing their properties.
Leave crystals in Sun for a few hours. Solar energy is powerfully charging. Some crystals such as Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine may fade or lose their color in direct sunlight.
Under the light of Full Moon it is especially good for crystals associated with intuition & emotions like Moonstone & Amethyst.
Repeated burrowing into the ground after cleansing also charges them with Earth energy.
Take each crystal in your hands, close your eyes & focus on its purpose, visualizing how the flow of light & your personal energy fills it, programming it for divination.
To program your crystals take each crystal in turn, hold it in your hands, focus on its uniqueness & say it clearly aloud or to yourself: This crystal will symbolize, for example, Love, in my fortune telling. Visualize this meaning as it permeates crystal.
Repeat the programming process periodically or simply remind yourself of the meaning of each crystal when you pick it up.
There are several basic methods of lithomancy, each of which offers its own way of interacting with the energy of crystals.
Crystal throwing & interpretation of location is one of the most common & dynamic methods. It allows you to get a general picture of the situation & the interaction of various energies.
Spread a clean piece of natural fabric on the table or floor, preferably plain, for example, black, white or blue.
Take all your fortune-telling crystals in both hands. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths & exhale to calm your mind. Articulate your question clearly. Shake crystals in your hands so that they mix & absorb your question. Throw crystals on the cloth in front of you. Let them fall the way they want without trying to control their movement.
Interpretation of the location starts at the Center, crystals that fell closest to the center
of the fabric indicate the most important energy, the central aspect or the main driving force
associated with the issue. This is the heart of fortune-telling. Proximity, distance from each other, how they are lying close together indicates interconnection, strong influence on each other, cooperation or conflict between the aspects they represent. The closer you get, the stronger the connection. Far lying crystals denote separation, lack of connection, remoteness, independence or
the irrelevance of these aspects to each other. If crystals form a line or they clearly point in one direction, to the right from the predictor means moving forward, the future, progress, active actions. To the left is for reflection, the past, delays, internal processes, emotional aspects. Up is for spirituality, goals, ambitions. Down is mothers, reliability, grounding, practical issues.
If there are symbols on your crystals & some of them have fallen face down or incorrectly, this may
indicate hidden aspects that have not yet manifested. Invisible influences or subconscious processes. Blocked energy or an aspect that requires attention but is not yet available to consciousness. The negative or reverse meaning of the symbol.
Fallen off the fabric may indicate factors beyond your control or something that is not relevant to the current issue or something that will be discarded or lost.
Crystals touching each other is a symbol of strong interaction, cooperation, or, conversely,
conflict between the aspects they represent.
If crystals form a pile or dense cluster, it may indicate a focus of energy, a close
relationship of aspects, or, conversely, chaos, confusion & the need to understand the
situation.
Choosing crystal from a bag method is more intuitive & focuses on a specific crystal that attracts you at the moment as an answer to a question or as the main message.
Place all your fortune-telling crystals in an opaque bag made of natural fabric. Focus on your question. Put your hand into the bag & without looking, let your intuition choose one, two or three stones, depending on the question or how many crystals reached out to you. Take out the selected crystals & place them in front of you.
